A small group of aliens hijacks the Enterprise and heads for the Andromeda Galaxy. They reduce most of the crew to small mineral cubes, of which they crush one, thereby killing a female crew member. Oh, WOW! Coolness!
Well, okay, the visual side of things wasn’t all that impressing (just me picking on the old times again - disregard). Turning the crewmembers into ice cubes? Come on!
But the rest of it was stunning! I must have already mentioned that I love the all-powerfull aliens taking the humans over and the struggle to survive. I probably haven’t mentioned that I prefer peaceful solutions. It may be one of the main reasons why I prefer TNG over all the other series. Captain Picard was a master of negotiations! You can’s say the same about Kirk, can you?
This episode, however, is a wonderful exception. To actually convince the Kelvans to return was a masterpiece. Bravo! And more, please.
