“Code of Honor”
“Code of Honor” Picard needs to purchase an urgently needed vaccine from the Ligonians, a proud but antiquated culture. The Ligonian leader Lutan kidnaps Tasha and wants her to kill his wife Yareena in a ritual combat, to inherit her property. His plan fails when Yareena, after her death, is revived by Dr. Crusher. The marriage is over, but since she is still alive he loses his claim on her fortune. Yareena is gracious and accepts Lutan as her “second one”, after Lutan’s former subordinate Hagon. summary by Ex-Astris-Scientia
Hmm… the beginning was good (I mean “Encounter at Farpoint”) but this one… I suppose I didn’t see this episode as the second. I must have missed it and only saw it much later. Anyway, I wasn’t impressed much.
Probably the reason is, I never particularly liked Tasha. I was happy to see Worf take her place. Not that I was happy to see her killed so stupidly but…
Ah, wait a second! I remember all this rambling about not having any regular crewmembers ever killed. Well, why don’t we like this one then? Okay, I know it’s not the right episode. I’ll write about this one on time.
Going back to “Code of Honor”, I guess I saw it after being fed (and fed up with!) all the Klingon glory and honor. Add to that the fact that I’m not too happy about women as warriors (I myself am more of a classical, gentle type, despite my hobbies). Tasha’s attitude, her love for fight and weaponry is unnatural to me.
