“Family”
While the Enterprise is undergoing repairs at McKinley station, Picard visits his brother’s family in Labarre, France. Robert Picard is not fond of modern technology and he fears that the captain might have a bad influence on his son RenĂ© who is as enthusiastic about Starfleet as Jean-Luc once was himself. Picard, on the other hand, is tempted to leave Starfleet and join the Atlantis Project, to create a new continent in the Atlantic Ocean. After a fight in the vineyard, Jean-Luc and Robert manage to settle their dispute. In the meantime, Sergey and Helena Rozhenko, Worf’s adoptive parents, visit the Enterprise - not to Worf’s pleasure. Wesley views a holographic message his father recorded for him before he died. summary byEx-Astris-Scientia
One of the cutest episodes ever. It’s nice to know the crew have their families other than Lwaxana Troi…
The biggest moment of this episode for me was when Guinan tild Worf’s parents: “When he looks out there for home, he isn’t looking at Klingon Empire…” Touching.
Picard and his brother are classic also. All in all, a good, refreshing episode. Liked it a lot.

At times the Picard brothers, or rather their conflict, stuck me as a bit childish, especially their fight in the vineyard. But all in all I have to agree that it was rather refreshing to see that there is a life beyond Starfleet for our heroes, and that these people are not all about gallivanting around the galaxy. If it takes a little squabble to drive that point home I guess I shouldn’t complain.
Makes me wish the episode would have been longer and given the writers time to develop the family members of the crew a bit more. There were times when the characterization was almost too cliche for my taste, but thankfully never so much that it distracted from the fun of watching this episode.

Heh! That’s why I called it classic. I meant more… stereotype? A classical conflict between brothers. But it was surely fun to watch
