“Legacy”
The Federation freighter Arcos crashes on Turkana IV, Tasha’s devastated home planet. The surviving crew members are taken hostages by the Alliance, while their enemies, the Coalition, offer their help to find them. They send Ishara Yar, Tasha’s sister, to the Enterprise. Ishara leaves a very good impression, but her actual goal is to disable the proximity detectors both Turkana factions agreed to years ago, so she would be able to destroy the Alliance’s power plant. The hostages are freed, and just when Ishara is manipulating the reactor, Data stops her. Disappointed about the betrayal, the Enterprise crew leaves Ishara on Turkana IV. summary by Ex-Astris-Scientia
Uhmm… never really liked Tasha (you’d have to back a few pages in the blog) and wasn’t actually convinced by her sister. I honestly expected Dr Crusher would reveal she’s a cheat after a more careful examination of her DNA… LOL!
Nevertheless, I love this episode because of Data. (that’s a surprise, huh?) He’s so perfectly innocent here. His line about getting used to certain data input (his definition of friendship) was priceless! Then, his discussion with Riker (him - of all the crew! I’d rather expected him to go to Troy with this one) about taking risks with relationships… Finally, the expression on his face when Ishara is beamed off board. Sweet moments.
