“Night Terrors”
The Enterprise finds the starship Brattain adrift in space, with all the crew except for the ship’s Betazoid counselor dead. Neither the Brattain’s not the Enterprise’s engines are working because they are trapped in a Tyken’s Rift. While Troi is plagued by nightmares, especially one of a moon spinning around a planet, the rest of the Enterprise crew is not dreaming at all, which will render them insane sooner or later. Together with Data, Deanna finds out that her nightmare is actually a message from another ship, asking to release hydrogen (=electron spinning around a nucleus). Data vents the stored hydrogen, and both ships are freed. summary by Ex-Astris-Scientia
Another one of my long time favorites. Deanna’s dream has haunted myself on a few nights. I loved the mood, the mystery, the danger. Now come and tell me that Troi is stupid. I think she’s just marvellous here. The whole episode is simply fascinating. I wish they had more stories like this one!
