“The Doomsday Machine” Obsessed to take revenge on an enormous machine destroying whole planets and having killed his whole crew, Commodore Decker takes command of the Enterprise, leaving Kirk on the heavily damaged U.S.S. Constellation, Decker’s ship. When Decker is relieved of his command by Spock, he takes a shuttle and enters the machine on a suicide mission, but the explosion of the shuttle is not sufficient to destroy the machine. Now that was one excellent episode. The tension, the battle, the insane Captain… mmm… Star Trek at its best. Can’t think of one single flaw. Perhaps a tad schematic but still…
