“The Naked Now”
“The Naked Now” An away team examining an apparent mass suicide on the U.S.S. Tsiolkovsky brings a virus aboard the Enterprise that makes the crew forget their duty and behave irrationally. While Dr. Crusher is developing a cure, the situation becomes critical when Wesley locks himself up in the engine room and disables the propulsion systems, while a stellar fragment is approaching the ship. When propulsion would come online a few seconds too late, a tractor beam is used to push away the Tsiolkovsky, thereby gaining the missing time. summary by Ex-Astris-Scientia
Okay I know it’s a cliche but you have to remember TNG was the first series for me. The first time I saw it I never got the reference and quickly forgot about the whole thing. Although it had some appeal to me. Mainly because of the mysterious atmosphere. Kind of reminded me of Solaris. Not the film though but the book by StanisÅ‚aw Lem.
Usually (and Star Trek is a notable exception) I prefer books to films. Especially when it comes to science-fiction. No special effects can ever do the trick for me. My imagination works sooo much better!
